Soon after, Iona moved to California to be with her husband who was serving in the Marines. To this union 4 children were born, Ron (Ronnie), Marsha, Lynn, and Regina. Mr. & Mrs. Carr enjoyed a long-lasting marriage of 65 years.

We will truly miss Mrs Iona, I was always there with my mother Angie Sappington while Iona did her hair. She also did my hair a few times. We always enjoyed all the Stories Iona use to tell us. I last remember her giving us a tour of her home.

Cousin Iona, will forever be remembered for the love and acceptance shown to the family throughout her lifetime! She was a very talented, fashionable and beautiful lady! While growing up as a child, I had the opportunity to see her show forth techniques of how she cared for her customers while doing their hair. My Mother Ruthie Mae Brown, and Aunt Angie Sappington, were regulars for many years, and they would leave looking their absolute BEST!!! I will keep all of the many memories in my heart. She will be missed, but she's at peace and at rest!
