Ira C. "Ike" Boyer

Ira C. “Ike” Boyer, 90, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, November 18th, at Orwigsburg Center.

Born in Coaldale on February 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Catherine (Christ) and Homer Boyer.

Ike was the widower of Rosemary (Fry) Boyer who passed away in 2007.

He attended Cressona High School.

Ike was the owner & operator of Schuylkill Floor Cleaning.

He was a member of Faith Reformed United Church of Christ, Landingville.

He was also a member of Perry Juniata & Upper Dauphin Shrine Clubs; past director of Rajah Shrine Club; past president of Schuylkill & Rajah Shrine Club; Schuylkill Masonic Lodge 138; Charter Member of Berks County Civil War 1st Defenders; and Civil War Trust.

Ike is survived by a daughter, Lori, wife of David Teter, of West Brunswick Twp.; grandchildren: David Teter, wife of Lori, of New Ringgold;  Kendall Boyer, wife of Kyle; Kaitlyn & Dane Boyer; and two great grandchildren, Dakota & Keegan. He is also survived by a sister, Sally Schaeffer, of Lehigh Valley; and friend, Susan Sweigert, of Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ike is preceded in death by a son, Dean Boyer; brothers, Myron and Leonard Boyer; sisters, Jean Sanford & Verda Roadcap.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 26th at Faith Reformed United Church of Christ in Landingville with Pastor Jim Fidler officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the beginning of the service.

Interment will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
