Ira Houk Obituary

Ira K. Houk Jr., 84, of Butler, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Ellwood City, to the late Ira and Rebecca (Noah) Houk.
Ira graduated from Shenango High School in 1958. He went on to work for ARMCO Steel as a step-up foreman, until retiring in 2000. He was a longtime attendee of Grace Way Community Church. Ira enjoyed cutting grass and camping, as well as spending time with his loving family.
Ira is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Karol (Shook) Malinak-Houk, whom he married Dec. 23, 1976; his two sons; his grandchildren, Lacey (Jason) Westager and Brandon Johnson; his three great-grandchildren, Osiris Westager, Zephyr Westager and Auraleigh Westager; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ira was preceded in death by his half sister and half brother.
HOUK - As per the family's wishes, there will be no services for Ira K. Houk Jr., who died Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.
Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Karol and family,
I'm so sorry to see where Ira has passed. I'm sure by now he and Bob are reminiscing about the good old days. Praying for comfort and peace during this time.
