Ira Riskin Obituary

May 24, 1933 - February 12, 2023 Ira was born in New York and moved to Los Angeles with his parents and older brother. While at Beverly High, Ira enrolled in NROCT to so he could attend UCLA. After graduation, he entered the Navy as an officer and after fulfilling his duty 3 years later he retired as a Lieutenant. He then attended UCLA Law School, was on law review and received Order of the Coif. Ira began practicing law. Ira was a trial attorney and loved a jury trial. He was a natural in court and was on the winning side most of the time
Ira and Sandy married in March 1965. They were blessed to have found each other. They were soulmates for 57 beautiful years. They resided in Brentwood 90049 in the same house for 55 years. They enjoyed movies and dinners out and traveling the world aboard 75 cruises. After Ira retired, he joined The Plato Society. Both he and Sandy also volunteered as CASAS, working with foster kids, being their voices in court, arranging medical and dental appointments and school tutors. Ira loved to talk physics, his major in college, and maintained a subscription to Scientific American for over 50 years.
Ira adored his family, they were everything to him. He took pride in their achievements and provided them guidance and emotional support. He looked forward to their visits.
Ira is survived by his wife, Sandy, his 2 children, Marci Riskin (David Moore) and Daniel Riskin (Naiema Blanchard) and is survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson: Fionnuala Moore, Lucas Riskin, Maya Riskin and Jason Pengilley, Aleia Pengilley, Stephanie Pengilley (Josh Bradus), Kira (Sean Frye) and Aiden Frye and Kyla (Chad Cuomo)
Ira was a true gentleman, kind, caring and loyal. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts
