Irene Clara Andree (nee Gruhn)
Irene passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, sister Audrey Tighe, brother Alfred Gruhn and niece Kathleen Campbell.
Irene originally hailed from Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts but after her marriage to Cliff, she resided in Milwaukee. Though she became a Wisconsinite, her love for the Boston area was so strong that she never lost her Boston accent.
Irene is survived by two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and the many friends she made during her life in Milwaukee. Irene and Cliff had the same great next-door neighbors for several years and formed a very close bond with them.
Irene was very kind, warm and loved by many. She lived a good, long life.
She was be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park alongside her husband Clifford.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, April 12, at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 Greenfield Ave., New Berlin, at 1 PM. Please gather in front of the cemetery office. There is a map of the cemetery for reference located in the "tributes" section of Irene's obituary, as the cemetery office will not be open. Following services at the cemetery, there will be a luncheon at New Berlin Ale House, 16000 W. Cleveland Ave., New Berlin.
