Irene T. Baker, 81, of Lititz, beloved wife, mother, and “oma”, died peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at UPMC Lititz. Born in Nuremberg, Germany; she was the daughter of the late Heinz and Charlotte Kurzdorfer. Irene was the loving wife of Robert L. “Bob” Baker and they would have celebrated another year together being their 4oth wedding anniversary in May of this year. Throughout most of her life Irene was a licensed hairstylist, and was the former owner and operator of the “Hair Junction Hair Salon” Lancaster. Irene attended St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz, and was a member of the Lancaster Liederkranz, Manheim. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and was a passionate enthusiastic fan rooting for her Philadelphia Eagles and Hershey Bears. Irene loved life and held family and friends close to her heart. She made everyone feel they were special. Irene always made everyone laugh with her sarcasm, contagious laugh, and smile. As well as her sassy taste of humor and her amazing style.
Surviving in addition to her husband Bob, is a son, Barry Shultz of Lancaster, a granddaughter, Veronica (Shultz) Roma of Lancaster, three great grandchildren: Giovanni, Alyssa, and Olivia Roma. Preceding her in death is a daughter, Manuela Shultz.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Irene’s Celebration of Life Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Witness Park Cemetery, Lititz.
