Irene Jackson 'Ma'
Unconditionally unapologetically a mother! Not to biological only but to graphed and blended in children as well. See our connection began with a loving strong provider in my Father Vergie Jackson Sr. Who at time lost his way but never allowed us to lose ours. The first day I was as introduced to Mama Irene and yes that what I called her from the first moment and now. When she had every right to ask my dad to take me away from her home she didn't and neither did she allow her 4 biological children to ask that, that was asked at first only by The baby girl Vicky. I don't blame her because when my being the baby no longer moment came in the embodied form of Jermaine I too felt like Vicky did, a bit up set but soon got over it after holding him and dropping my baby a few time yes he was know as my baby just as I became Main, Sain's, Sissa's and vicky's baby. If you saw either of them you probably saw me too. However like all the children our father took in and called his own, we were his and no one could separate or treat us any different. He just didn't okay that. The key to that was Mama Irene she enforced that in all of us and by that I mean she enforced that in all three sets of children from the next relationships of her then husband turned friend and father to all her children both biological and blended. This amazed others but not us because we never experienced any differences between us. At first I've always wanted to attribute that to my dad however as I go older I learned that it was Mama Irene's determination, kindness, and love that was the driving force behind the blending of 11 plus siblings without ever an issue of feeling unloved, belittled, or devalued. Your a Jackson and that stands for something and she made sure you knew it. This was truly a proverbs 31 one woman. I remember we put together a Jackson's family reunion cruise. We drove to Florida and upon arrival mama Irene purchased every single child and grandchild a Christmas gift. She even purchased a gift for Jermaine's "date"Nina. Who wasn't really a date but just came along. Mama Irene got her a set of pajamas so they would enjoy the trip "her words not mine!".... that's love unconditional heart felt genuine love and respect of her children's choices! I've know her 44 years and I've never heard a harsh degrading word from her mouth. She had a way of making you rethink your decision or actions and still make you feel loved and like the only child she had at that moment. This wasn't only for the blended children. But the 2 additional blended parents. To her credit there has never been any situation between either parental unit and all have shared holidays and cordial relations at family events. I will truly miss her and heaven truly has an angel returning home. To my sisters and brother our parents taught us live and togetherness, let's keep teaching by example!

When I think of Irene,
I think of a warm, loving, graceful soul. One whose presence and laughter would fill the room. A soul whose kindness I will always remember. The strength of her love reflected in her legacy.
She is truly missed...
To the family,
Love and Blessings

Dearest Mommy,
Truly, there Ain't no love, like a Mother's love. I thank you for being my Mother and best friend too! You guided, advised, blessed, cared, encouraged, provided, cried, laughed, cooked, ate, lived, traveled, danced, singed, prayed, etc. with me (and our entire family). IRENE means Peace.' And you were a most loving Mommy, to your family and to many others. I guess that's why in Buffalo we always had a house full of people visiting us. And of course, due your excellent cooking too! I will always remember your wealth of wisdom. For example, the three hardest things for a person to say is I am sorry, Please forgive me, and I love you. We were so blessed to have you as our Mommy. And to have your Mother, as our Grandma (Ingram). You both were so loving, giving, supportive, full of wisdom, and Saved women of God who always put your family and friends first. I will never forget you! Thank you for always encouraging and supporting me, and your family with our achievements. For example, educational achievements, careers, marriages, children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren. You loved us and your nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws, brother, sisters, cousins, and always promoted family unity. I realize that your new residency is now in Heaven (and with many other family members). Yet, already - I still miss you. Mommy, enjoy your ultimate mansion (John 14:2-3) up there with Jesus Christ. No more pain! Love always,
Your First Born Child
