Irene M. Kennedy (née Rutkauskas)
Age 83, of Orland Park, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025.
Born in Lithuania on January 9, 1942, Irene built a beautiful life rooted in love, perseverance, and family. She was the beloved wife of the late Clyde F. Kennedy and the loving mother of the late Patrick (Kaia) Kennedy. She was a dear mother-in-law to Diane Kennedy, and a cherished grandmother to Danielle Kennedy, Nicolette (Daniel) Tello, Victoria Kennedy, and the late Joshua Kennedy. Irene took great joy in being "GG" to her precious great-grandchildren, Brooks and Kennedy June.
The kind and devoted daughter of the late Augustas and Broneslava (née Klastauskas) Rutkauskas, Irene was also the adored sister of the late Augustas "Joe" Rutkauskas.
Irene's commitment to her community shone in her time as a proud member of W.O.W. at St. Michael Parish. Irene's community here brought her strength and grace through every season, especially her golden girls and golden guys.
She will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL.
