Irene (Renee) Cecelia Lorbiecki (93) of
New Berlin, Wisconsin died on November 14, 2025 at Brookdale of Brookfield.
She was born on December 5, 1931, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, the daughter of Anna Rose and Edward Grossbier. Renee married Joseph Peter Lorbiecki on July 5, 1954. Renee is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe and seven brothers and sisters. Surviving is one sister (Helen) and two children, Maria (Gary) Robinson of Springfield, Illinois and Brian of Madison, Wisconsin. Renee was blessed to have two grandsons who she adored, David (Kim) of Orland Park, Illinois and Grant (Brittney) of Springfield, Illinois. Also joining her family are three great grandchildren, Logan (7 years old), Rory (5) and Joel (18 months).
Renee was a woman of faith, a proud and active member of Holy Apostles Church in
New Berlin, WI. In addition to raising her family she was also a professional woman who worked as a hairdresser for 17 years before being hired as the first civilian dispatcher in 1967 for the New Berlin Police Department. Renee rose through the ranks and retired as the office manager supervising all civilian personnel. She also served on the New Berlin Police and Fire Commission for 18 years. The police department created the Renee Lorbiecki Civilian Employee of the Year Award to honor sustained excellence by civilian members of the department. With over 50 years of service, she developed so many great relationships with police chiefs, officers and civilians. Renee was a modern woman, balancing both the needs of her family and working full time providing a valuable service to her community. But at the end of her busy days, she always enjoyed her nightly Manhattan (it was a must!). Despite her responsibilities, there was still time for fun and relaxation. She and Joe enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling, playing cards and dancing. Renee was a member of the New Berlin Woman's Club and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House. Renee has experienced all that life has to offer as evidenced in part by her flight in a hot air balloon and riding a camel in Egypt. She and Joe rose from humble beginnings to enjoying a full and comfortable life but never forgot what was most important, family, faith and kindness.
Renee's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2025, at HOLY APOSTLE CHURCH, 16000 W. National Ave.,
