Marion Anthony Lorbiecki, of Rosholt, passed away at home on June 18, 2024, at the age of 80.
Marion was born March 22, 1944, in the Town of Alban, WI; son of the late Leo and Sophie (Kostuch) Lorbiecki. He grew up on the family farm, where his hard work ethic and strong will developed at an early age. He attended Rosholt High School until the age of 17 when he felt the call to bravely enlist in the US Army. He proudly served his country from 1961 - 1964, where he was stationed stateside and overseas.
In June 11, 1966, Marion married Irene Kozelek at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt, WI. The couple moved to Milwaukee where they welcomed their first son, Steven. While in Milwaukee, Marion worked at Pelton Steel. In 1967, the family moved back to Rosholt where they welcomed their son, Craig. Marion worked for Steel King Industries where he proudly dedicated over 35 years to the company. In that time, Marion instilled the same drive for a strong work ethic in all those who worked for him. In 1971, their third and final son, Todd, was born into the family. In 1985, the family moved to a hobby farm where Marion and Irene finished raising their three boys. Here they passed on their hard work ethic, strong catholic values, and love for family, to their sons. Marion and Irene enjoyed 34 joyous years of marriage before her passing in September of 2000. Two years later, Marion left the hobby farm and returned to Rosholt. In 2003, Marion retired from Steel King Industries.
Marion, a man of morals and ethics, lived a proud and humble life. He was a loving and caring father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving grandparent to each of his grandchildren in his own way. He took pride in passing down life lessons that revolved around hard work, family, and a strong faith. Marion's hobbies when not enjoying the hobby farm, included relaxing in the outdoors by hunting and fishing, and playing pinochle with family and friends. Marion was a man of many talents. It did not matter what the job was, there was no project too big or too small; there was nothing that Marion could not do.
Marion is survived by his three sons, Steven (Kay) of Presque Isle, Craig (Melanie) of Rosholt, and Todd (Lisa) of Cecil; 6 grandchildren, Anna, Sophie, Charlie, Lily, Olivia, and Julia; and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene; his parents, Leo and Sophie; a brother, Ralph; and two sisters, Beatrice Simonis and Sally Domask.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of St. Croix Hospice for their help and care of Marion in his last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2024, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church - 3315 St. Adalberts Road, Rosholt, WI. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Services will conclude with a burial at the Parish Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
