Iris Adell (Cole) Belec, 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. She was born August 12, 1930, in Waukegan, IL, to the late, Ralph Ernest Cole and Nina Martha (Van Houten) Cole. After completing her education, she married Harold Kufahl, who preceded her in death in 1950. She later met and married Victor Belec, who preceded her in death in 2009.
Iris worked for much of her life as a librarian assistant, where she enjoyed being able to assist others. Along with her work, Iris had many joys in life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting. However, her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and later great-grandchildren, who will all miss her very much.
Iris is survived by her children, Dennis (Judy) Kufahl, Adele Victoria (Gary Klinger) Belec, Alvin (Rae) Belec, and Ana Louise (Jerry) Bollinger; her 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Peter, Jonathan, Matthew, Greg, Danny, Kristol, Jayson, Ashley, Derek, Rachel, Amanda, and Jaclyn; as well as 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Ernest Cole and Nina Martha Cole; her husbands, Harold Kufahl and Victor Belec; as well as her siblings.
