She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Posey Turpin and Dovie Ditmore Turpin Randolph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, McKinley "JR" Millsaps in 1992; her great great grandson, Conley Anderson; stepson, John Garland; brothers, Gid Prince and Gene Prince; sisters, Arbutus Hollifield, and Virginia Kunz.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Garland; son, Simon Millsaps, daughters, Rhonda Millsaps Waldroup (Darrell), Sandi Millsaps-Ball (Brian), stepdaughters, Linda Garland, and Suzy Thomas; sisters, Violet Tavares, and Sue Turpin. She is also survived by her grandchildren Haley Lovin (Brandon), Brooke Waldroup Coats (Bo), Chase Millsaps, Bailey Ball, Braden Ball (Kayla), step grandchildren, Kyle Garland (Lauren), Karissa Warner (Zack), great grandchildren, Cambrie Anderson (Rylee), Carson Lovin (Kelly), Luke Lovin, Bryce Coats, Bella Coats, step great grandchildren, Kacey, Kole, and Kaden Garland, Halleigh, Charlotte, and Bella Warner, and 2 great great grandchildren, Hudson Anderson and Vallee Coats; and her most loved and loyal companion, Ruby
Plans for a Celebration of Life Service will be announced later.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Garland Family.
