On April 11, 2024, Iris Grace Gawne returned to God shortly after a premature birth. She was the beautiful, cherished daughter of Judy Lindsay Brown and Geoffrey Raymond Gawne, and the much anticipated baby sister of Arabella Rose Gawne.
Iris' arrival was eagerly awaited by the Rogers Park community and her grandparents: Raymond Robert Gawne and Marie Popp Gawne of Norwood Park and Judy Bryan Brown and William Jones Brown II of Potomac, MD.
She also leaves behind two feline companions, Lord Wilson and Lady Harriet, who snuggled close while both Iris and Arabella grew in the womb.
The family has selected green cremation services. A private ceremony will be conducted at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Elmdale, Chicago, 60660. A larger celebration of life is planned for later in the year.
"So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you." -JOHN 16:22
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the church for their support and blessings: https://secure.myvanco.com/L-YR2R/campaign/C-10NNT.
