Iris Kintner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2026.
Iris went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan 17th, 2026.

She was born November 25th, 1932, in Aberdeen, WA., daughter of Rudy and Elaine Boettcher.

Iris attended Weatherwax High School where she met the love of her life, Leroy Kintner. They were married for 64 years at the time of Leroy's passing in 2015.

Iris and Leroy moved to Vancouver in 1958. Iris worked at Columbia River Paper Mill and later became head checker at Keil's grocery store and then at Dave's Thriftway.

Iris and Leroy had a place at Camper's Hideaway where they welcomed family and friends. They especially enjoyed having their grandkids stay with them during the summer months.

Iris was an exceptional cook and baker. She loved to try new recipes and share them with others. Her Christmas Candies were legendary. Iris had an extensive cookbook collection that she read like novels.

Iris is survived by son, Michael Kintner; daughters, Bev Carmichael (Larry) and Pam Staples (Kevin); six cherished grandkids, Jeremy Carmichael, Sarah MacDonald, Scott Staples, Todd Staples, Jeffrey Staples and Cory Greenleaf; Eighteen much loved great grandchildren and so many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Iris was preceded in death by Leroy, four siblings and a niece.

Iris was completely devoted to her family and friends.

She loved the Lord and was ready to go to her Heavenly Home to be with Him, and her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live in our hearts forever.

Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 23rd at 4:00 pm at First Evangelical Church, 4120 NE St Johns Rd, Vancouver.
