Louisville: The family of Iris W. Lashomb, sadly announce her passing on December 18, 2025, at her home surround by her loving family. Friends and family may be received on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to the time of the service at 6:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, with Helen Langford presiding. Burial will be held in Massena Center Cemetery in the spring.
Iris was born on June 30, 1940, in Potsdam, to her parents, Clifford and Bertha (Kenny) Weegar. She graduated from Massena High School in 1958, where she was very involved during her school years, proudly participating as a member of the Majorettes.
On March 7, 1964, Iris married, Bernard Lashomb, at the Methodist Church in Massena.
Iris worked at Bouyea Bakery, McLeans Nursery and Verville's Flowers. When she and her husband moved to Bedford Indiana, she went to work at McDonalds, a job she found most enjoyable. After her return to Massena, she continued her work at McDonalds, where she would continue to make friends with the employees and customers.
Iris was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bernie, her children, Tammy Lashomb and her companion Terry Weller, of Potsdam and Tim Lashomb and his wife Michelle. She was a loving grandmother to Austin Lashomb of Newark, NY and Abbie Lashomb, her fiancé, Aaron Deon of Potsdam. Several nieces and nephews, and her beloved four legged grand-pups, Cooper, Daisy and Oakley. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Weegar, Clifford Weegar and two sisters: Frances "Franny" Keeley and Dodi Drake.
Iris will be remembered for her commitment to her family, her fun-loving personality. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.
