In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Willard Wayne Millsap; and a brother, Johnny Hart.
Iris was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte for 16 years. A 1964 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School, she was a gifted seamstress who found great joy in quilting and sewing, creating many beautiful handmade quilts. Iris also owned and operated her own business, The Sign Post, where she showcased her artistic talent by hand-painting signs for her community.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Scott Millsap (Anita) and Jason Millsap (Susan); sisters, Wanda Mullis, Candace Carlisle, Jane Keever (Roger); brother, Allen Hart; sister-in-law, Arlene Hart; and honorary "daughter", Wendy Jo Turan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Iris's celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte with Pastor Jack Homesley officiating.
