Iris June (Fox) Shaver of Newport passed away peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was born to the late Homer and Bessie Mae (Suggs) Fox on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1933.

After her high school graduation (CCHS) Iris worked several years in retail and for American Enka Company (BASF) before becoming a fulltime homemaker for her two daughters and husband of 59 years, the late Glenn Shaver. She was a talented cook and seamstress and loved quilting. She enjoyed gifting many of her beautiful quilts to her family. She greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School and VBS teacher for many years.

She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, 2 brothers and son-in-law, Anthony Kimbrough.

Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Wheeler (Norm) of Maryville and Denise Kimbrough of White Pine. She was a devoted grandmother to her four beloved grandchildren, their spouses and five precious great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Brenda Crum of Blountville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Iris' caregivers at Wellington Manor, Smoky Mountain Hospice, and to caregivers Vera, Barbara, Doris and Nellie.

Family and friends may come by and sign the register book and pay their respects during business hours on Monday and until 12:00 noon, Tuesday. Family and friends will assemble at Shady Grove Cemetery for graveside service Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Jackie Swanger officiating.
