Iris Stewart Wajick, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the age of 75. Born on December 7, 1949, in Hopewell, Virginia, Iris spent her life devoted to her family. She resided in Dinwiddie, Virginia with her late husband, Carl “Skip” Johnny Wajick. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Grace Stewart.
Iris was a proud mother to Leslie Tucker, Stephanie Wajick, and Bryan (Jennifer) Wajick. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Carley (Jordan) Claytor, Dalton Tucker, and Morgan Tucker, and a great-grandmother to Cambelle and Brady Claytor. She was the heart of her family—steadfast, nurturing, and endlessly supportive.
She found immense joy in spending time with her family and especially loved cheering for her grandchildren on the ball field. Her legacy of love will live on in those she held dear.
A private service will be held for family.
