LEICESTER: Iris (Laird) Whitmore, 83, of Leicester died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 11th, in The Meadows of Leicester. She leaves her husband of 62 years, Ronald C. Whitmore, her daughters; Rhonda M. Rockwood of Leicester and Diane L. Moffat of Leicester, 5 grandchildren; Amanda Witkowski (Steve), Michael Rockwood (Coley), Evan Dowd, Madison Dowd, and Christopher Moffat Jr. 6 great grandchildren; Hunter, Ryker, Mia, Luke, Oaklyn, and Vienna, and her brother in-law, Richard Whitmore and his wife, Brenda.
Iris was a cook for 22 years at the former Anna Maria Rest Home in Worcester; retiring in 2002. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, the daughter of Gordon and Mary Laird.
At her request, funeral services are private. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to Deja New, 100 So. Main St., Leicester, MA 01524.
