Irma Rae Coyne left this world peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 93. She was at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Irma Rae was born in Independence, Louisiana on May 26, 1932, to her loving parents Pennington and Vera Mae Sharp Kuhn.
Irma Rae graduated from Folsom School where she went on to become a telephone switchboard operator. Irma Rae married Wayne Coyne on January 17, 1952, and started their family of nine. Larry, Penny, Connie (Daniel), Tommy (Susan), and Tammy (Jerry). Irma Rae is cherished and loved dearly by her sister Elaine (Ben). She had a hand in helping to shape the lives of her 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She also has a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Irma Rae is a five generation of girls-Irma Rae-Tammy-Misty-Miranda-Layla.
Welcoming Irma Rae to her heavenly home is her loving husband Wayne, her sons Curtis and Randy. Her grandsons Matthew (Tommy and Susan) and Shawn (Connie and Daniel). Her great-granddaughter Kaylie (Rodney Jr. and Amanda T). Her siblings Hezzie, J.C., Hilda, JoAnn and their loving spouses.
Irma Rae had a love for cooking, crafting, and sewing. She also loved the outdoors, gardening and taking care of her animals, especially her chickens and dog Bear. She loved caring for her family and rocking all her grandbabies. She loved to feed everyone and always had an extra bedroom for anyone that needed it.
Irma Rae will be missed, but her legacy will live on in our hearts, memories, and generations forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held October 23, 2025 at 10:00am at Bagnell and Son Funeral Home in Covington, burial will follow at Bruhl Cemetery.
