Bartley Stephen Coyne Jr, 71, died on October 9, 2025, in Brattleboro, Vermont.
He was born on February 19, 1954, in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The son of Bartley "Barney" Stephen Coyne Sr. and Carrie Louise Comings.
Bartley "Butch" Coyne is a long-time resident of Foxboro, Massachusetts. He graduated from Foxboro High School in 1972. A sports enthusiast, Bart played on the Foxboro High School baseball and soccer teams.
He was very active in the community coaching youth soccer and playing in the adult soccer leagues.
He attended Northeastern University and graduated from Stonehill College which afforded him a long and very successful career as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President in the business industry.
Bart was the husband of Diane Mazzafero. They were married on October 7, 2007, in St. Albans, Vermont.
At the center of Bart's world was his wife Diane and his family as he was extremely family oriented. He enjoyed traveling, all types of sports, the beach, rock and roll music, concerts, Broadway plays, musicals and quiet moments.
He was predeceased by Bartley Stephen Coyne III, his son who passed away at 26 years of age from injuries he sustained in a single-car accident.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Mazzaferro, his three daughters Amy Yost, her husband Chris Yost, Katina Hammerschmidt, her husband Adam Hammerschmidt and Eleanor Coyne.
Bartley, also known as "Grandpa" and "Papa" is survived by his four grandsons Gunnar Yost, Conrad Yost, Zavier Hammerschmidt and Wyatt Hammerschmidt.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. However, there will be a Celebration of Bart's Life on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Union Church of South Foxboro at 11:00 am followed by reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution(s) can be made to: www.trombosis.org, www.thecomfortproject.org or a philanthropic donation to the charity of your choice.
