Ronald John Coyne, Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend, passed away during the night on September 27th, 2025, at the age of 87. He rests now after battling dementia for several years.
Born on November 10th, 1937 in Pittsburgh PA, Ron was the son of John (Jack) Coyne and Margaret Cambell, having one brother, Robert Coyne, who preceded him in death. Ron graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. He went on to marry his High School sweetheart, Helen Ann Keilocker. Ron then served in the Army, being drafted during the Korean war as a Communication Specialist. After returning home, Ron was employed by Western Electric (Bell Telephone), which led him and Helen to Nebraska and then to Johnstown, PA. They moved back to the South Hills of Pittsburgh, where Ron landed a job as a Service Technician with Xerox Corporation. He retired after 35 years of service.
Ron and Helen were blessed with seven children: Michael (Sharon) Coyne, William (Lori) Coyne, Dennis (Tara) Coyne, Susan (Tim) McCoy, Richard (Tanya) Coyne, James (Cynthia) Coyne, and Thomas Coyne. In addition, they have 19 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren (1 on the way). Ron served as a Lector at Saint Albert the Great Church, where his children attended school. He was also involved with carnivals, dinners, Cub Scouts and many activities that were held there.
As a devoted father of seven, our Dad dedicated his time and energy to his family. He would take us camping, trips to the beach, and taught us all how to snow ski. As we grew older and left the nest, he would come to our homes to help fix and renovate them. He definitely was a "Fix It" guy!
In retirement, he found his passion for Karaoke. He began by setting up the systems, which led to running shows, and eventually singing and enjoying the camaraderie with his group. They called him "Dude".
A private Family service is being held Saturday, October 18th in the morning. A Celebration of Life for all to attend will be held from 2pm – 5pm on Saturday, October 18th at North Park Lodge
(N Ridge Dr. Allison Park, PA 15101).
Arrangements entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township.
