Priscilla Verdi (1934-2025), our loving mother and noni has passed
in comfort and care surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband, William V. Verdi, she leaves her children, Margaret Verdi, William Verdi, Joseph Verdi, Sherri Verdi, Nancy O"Reilly, Jean Jones, Edward Verdi, Lisa Field, and Ursula Verdi; her grandchildren, Clenét, Marcus, Meagan, Jonathon, Lauren, Nicholas, and Caitlin, and great grandchildren, Colette and Harrison.
Priscilla was born and raised by her family who settled in North Easton from Ireland in 1830 where she grew up becoming a wife, mother of nine children, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an accomplished, highly recognized newspaper journalist of 33 years at the Brockton Enterprise. Following a legacy of academics and journalists, Priscilla graduated from Oliver Ames High School and studied English as a student of Stonehill College on the journalist club and also a graduate of University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor's degree and accolades in writing and social services. Her photography skills included capturing photos as a young journalist of prize boxer Rocky Marciano's wedding.
Working side by side with her husband, William Verdi, Desk Editor, at the Enterprise- they ran the local news in town government, police reports, and community events and town news.. Prior to computers and online access, they as a team covered the daily news with phone calls and articles "dropped off at the house", which they in turn drove to the Enterprise on a daily basis to "type out the news" for publication the next day. Priscilla loved the "news" and beat anyone in the current events of the day or the newest Patriots goings on. Jeopardy was her favorite TV game show with the infamous Alex Tribeck. 0n her 85th birthday, she was honored with a special birthday greeting directly from the Champion himself from the Hollywood Walk of Fame's Red Carpet.
Love and gratitude keeps her in our hearts forever and holds strength for our family, As we honor her legacy moving forward.
Private burial with a "Celebration of Life" Memorial announced for a future date.
