Irvin Warren Collins

Mr. Irvin Warren Collins, age 92, of Ararat, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Joan And Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on January 27, 1932 in Patrick County to the late Eliah and Clarice Brown Collins. Mr. Collins was a farmer and was also retired from Acme Stone Company with over 30 years of service. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Donna Payne (William), Frances Sutphin (Michael); son, Leroy Collins; grandchildren, Chris Sutphin, Josh Sutphin (Katrina), Brandon Collins; great-grandchild, Ben Sutphin; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Velva Virginia Collins; son, Irvin Warren Collins Jr; sister, Elizabeth Collins; brothers, Ray, Early, Victor, and Archie Lane Collins. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Richard Loman. Burial will follow in Collins Family Cemetery, Ararat, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Mr. Collins to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.
