Irving Victor Cryderman, 68, of Whitehall, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Trinity Health in Muskegon. Born on July 22, 1957, in Muskegon, he was the cherished son of Lynn and Beverly (Hansen) Cryderman.
Irving was a dedicated entrepreneur, having owned and operated Irving's Restaurants in North Muskegon, Whitehall, and Fremont for 15 years. He later enjoyed a successful career as a car salesman, serving the community for over 30 years until his retirement in 2025 from Lakeshore Chrysler. His passion extended beyond his work; Irving loved bird hunting with his loyal dogs and was an avid deer hunter. In his younger days, he was a spirited softball and hockey player.
Above all, Irving found joy in spending time with his family, particularly around Christmas, and their cherished "driveway parties."
Irving's community spirit shined through when he was honored as the Salvation Army's Top Bell Ringer of the Year in 2025 for his dedication during the cold winter months at Walmart in Whitehall. Irving was a man of faith. To know him was to love him, and he had a way to make everyone he met feel special. He definitely made a mark in this world and will be missed dearly by so many.
Irving is survived by his beloved wife, Joan whom he married on July 31, 1976. He is survived by his children, Irv (Christy) Cryderman and Kristen (Chad) Sliter; his four grandchildren, Brantley, Jameson, Kaelynn, and Kendall; his nephew, Lonn (Linda) Collins; and great-nephew, Kai Collins; his brother-in-law, Donald Harms; niece, Sarah Nyson; close cousins LeeAnne (Randy) Bean and Tony (Lisa) Hartman; Goddaughter Jenn Hartman; dear friends who were like family, Jerry and Vicki Vanderlaan, and Frank and Diane Henderson, as well as his beloved hunting dogs, Tebow and Tallie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sherry Hetherington, and his brother, Lynn Cryderman, in infancy.
In honoring Irving's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life is planned for this summer, where family and friends can come together to remember the wonderful impact he had on all their lives.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Irving may be made to the Salvation Army.
