Irving Eugene "Gene" Quackenbush of Waterford; passed away on October 15, 2025 at the age of 96; Born May 19, 1929 to Irving and Florence Quackenbush; He married Rosie Taylor in 1948 and they had three children, the late Larry, Debra and Timothy. Gene worked for the Post Office first as a mail carrier, then later became an Assistant Post Master, retiring after 38 years. He was a life time member of the Heart of the Lakes V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary), participated in many Veterans parades. He enjoyed hunting, camping, canoeing, traveling, snowmobiling, water skiing and spending summers at their cabin and winters at their Florida mobile home. Gene was always busy with projects well into his 90's, because he had to keep busy. He leaves behind his daughter Debra Struble (Rick), and son Timothy Quackenbush (Anita); Grandchildren Christy Baldwin (Scott), Jason Struble (Jessica), Christopher Quackenbush (Danielle) and Bradley Quackenbush (Cortney). Great-grandchildren Gwendolyn Hackett, Josephine Hackett, Addison Quackenbush, Grant Struble, Asher Quackenbush, Max Quackenbush and Molly Quackenbush. Preceded in death by his son Larry Quackenbush, and his parents Irving and Florence Quackenbush. The family wishes to thank Rosie's sister Margaret Evans, and Cynthia their nurse. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford.
