Irwin “Irv” Green, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 6, 2025, after an extraordinary life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Irv was the devoted husband of Barbara Green (née Kushner); their partnership was a testament to unwavering love and care. He was the loving father of Stuart Green (Jill), Jay Green (Dori), and Richard Green (Lisa), and the proud and adoring grandfather of Rachel, Jason, Alyssa, Carly, Justin, Alexa, and Sophie.
He was the cherished son of the late Frank and Ida Green, and brother of the late Jerome (late Arline) and Ronald (and the late Gail). He is also survived by many loving nieces and a nephew.
A teacher and small business owner, Irv touched countless lives. Students and customers alike appreciated his wit, humor, and genuine warmth. Growing up, he was known as “Flattop,” and he was a formidable basketball and baseball player. No matter what life brought, Irv’s message to his family was always the same: “I love you and I’m proud of you." And now Irv, right back at you. Your example has inspired us beyond measure, and we love you forever.
Irv was also, as his family lovingly joked, a medical marvel. Beginning in his 40's with his first open-heart surgery, he faced every challenge with determination and optimism. “I’m going to do what they tell me and I will be fine,” he’d say, and he meant it. His medical records were lengthy, yet he continued to play golf until the age of 88. Barbara watched over him like a hawk, contributing greatly to his long and remarkable life - although Irv somehow still managed to sneak in the occasional corned beef special.
Relatives and friends are invited to services on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA. Interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
