Isaac Briggs Jr

Isaac Briggs Jr., age 81, of Somerset, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital on July 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 24, 1944, in New Brunswick, NJ, Isaac was a proud product of the Franklin Township school system. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his lifelong commitment to discipline, service, and strength. After his military service, Isaac dedicated many years of his life to the Okonite Cable Company, where he retired as a machine operator and also served as a respected union leader. He was known for his quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep sense of responsibility. Isaac was the devoted husband of 58 years to his beloved wife, Johnnie Ann-affectionately known as Jay. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising three children: daughter Alisa, and sons Isaac III and Jason C. He was also the proud father of daughter Stacey and a cherished grandfather to four grandchildren. Isaac leaves behind his siblings: William (Alice), Henry (Geraldine), Darnel, Dorothy, and Elisa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Sr. and Purlean Briggs; his sister Minnie Lee; and brother Carl. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will remember him for his quiet dignity, strong moral compass, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Isaac Briggs Jr. lived a life of service, strength, and steady love.
