Isaac “Jimmy” Moore, Jr., 86, of Salem, AL passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 30,2025 at 11:00 (CST) / 12:00 pm (EST) at Vance Brooks Funeral Home 3738 Hwy 431 North Phenix City, AL 36877 with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am (CST) / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm (EST) at the funeral home in Phenix City. Serving as pallbearers are Danny Hutto, Dennis Moore, Stephen Eaton, Clay Eaton, Andy Moore, and Samuel Moore.
Born in the Basin Community near Opp, Ala. on June 26, 1938, Jimmy later moved to Phenix City where he worked at Bibb Mills as a floor sweeper and excelled to supervisor until Bibb’s eventual closing. He then continued his supervisory role in Eufaula before opening J&W Carpet Cleaning with his wife, Wilma. On his days off he could be found tending to his horses or riding in his wagon. He and Wilma enjoyed horse shows, riding motorcycles and traveling.
Jimmy attended Grace Free Will Baptist Church.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Lene Harrison Moore; father, Isaac Moore and his wife, Oberia; brothers Rexal Moore and Wendell Moore; sister Harriet Jean Moore; and daughter Wilma Denise Moore.
Jimmy leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Wilma Browder Moore; son, Randal (Sandra) Moore of Hurtsboro; grandchildren, Christopher (Embry) Moore of Phenix City and Joshua (Kiara) Moore, currently stationed in Germany; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Nathan, Haley Brooke, Kylie, Brandon and Hunter; brothers, Billy Wayne (Kathy) Moore, Michael (Richard Ortiz) Moore, Micky (Felicia) Moore, Ricky (Amelia) Moore and Terry Moore.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the building fund at Grace Freewill Baptist Church 10290 Lee County Road 240 Phenix City, AL 36870
