With heavy hearts and profound gratitude, we gather to celebrate the life of Isabel Esquivel de Davila - affectionately know to many as Chavita. On November 7, 2025 at the age of *93, Chavita peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion.
Born in the picturesque town of Toro Valle, Colombia, in 1932, Chavita was the cherished eldest daughter of Arturo Esquivel and Celsa Garcia and big sister to Aimer, Alberto, Cecilia, Leticia and Gilberto.
Chavita was a woman of remarkable intellect and creativity. She dedicated her professional life to shaping young minds as an elementary school teach in Cali, Colombia. Her passion for education was matched only by her artistry as a seamstress. With nimble fingers and a loving heart, she crafted countless dresses and costumes for her children and grandchildren - each stitch testament to her affection and pride.
Chavita had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her compassion was boundless, her humor delightfully sharp and her sweet tooth legendary. Whether sharing a laugh, a story, or a homemade treat, she brought joy to every room she entered.
She was the heart of vast and loving family. The love she shared with her beloved husband, Morris, created a legacy full of unforgettable moments. Their passion for dance and music brought them even closer together and was passed down to their children. Though she was preceded in death by her beloved husband and her brothers Alberto and Gilberto, her spirit lives on though her nine children - Diego, Edwin, Jose, Nora, Mauricio, Ana Maria, Alex, Yaneth, and James - her 22 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Her love radiates trough each of them, a living tribute to the life she led. They are finally reunited at last.
Chavita was adored not only by her family but by countless friends whose lives she touched with grace and warmth. Her Memory will continue to inspire, comfort and guide us.
A viewing service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Falowski Kalis McIntee Funeral & Cremation Services, 900 NW 5th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
As we say goodbye, we hold close the beautiful memories, the laughter, the lessons, and the love that Chavita gave so freely. Her legacy is stitched into the fabric of our lives, and her spirit will forever be part of our story.
