Isabelle Murray was born on July 30, 1947, in Charleston, SC, the beloved daughter of the late James and Patsy Moultrie Murray. She went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2024, while at home with her son by her side.
Isabelle Murray was educated in and graduated from the public schools of Charleston, SC. After graduation, she traveled to New York with her Uncle Benjamin Moultrie to broaden her mind and skills. She added making shoes to her skill list at an early age, which led her to getting a job putting together shoes at a shoe factory in New York city. After a year of shoe assembly, Isabelle came home to work with her mother Mrs. Patsy Moultrie Murray on her vegetable stand on Folly Road for a year. After a year Isabelle traveled again to work at Burdines a bakery in Miami, Florida, for a year and half. Isabelle also relocated again to San Jose, CA in the late 1980s, where she learned a trade and acquired an associate degree from " The Bryman School", on December 11, 1985, and received her diploma as a dental hygienist. Isabelle worked at Liberty Mutal Insurance f Company from 1986 to May 1993. After which she again relocated to Charleston to pursue her first love of baking. She worked for Harris Teeter and Publix as a cake decorator. People came from far and wide to have her design their cakes. Isabelle loved to see the smiles on children's faces as she made personalized mega cupcakes for them. The adults also loved and requested her specifically for designing book cakes for them. Isabelle was a true artist in the kitchen.
Isabelle was a member of the North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, California, where she was baptized on the 19th of May 1991 along with her son on the same day. Isabelle Murray was also a member of the same church as her mother, St. James Presbyterian Church on James Island, South Carolina.
Isabelle was a loving mother, a wonderful seamstress, home maker, caregiver, sister, and friend. She loved spending time playing cards with the family, traveling, sharing, and helping others in need. She also enjoyed spreading the word of God. Isabelle loved to bake and dance whenever she got the chance. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Isabelle Murray is survived by her only son, Benjamin E. Murray; her three brothers; nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
May her soul rest in the glorious peace of the Almighty, and her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. Isabelle's journey on this earth has ended, but her spirit lives on, a guiding star in the heaven above.
