John Yeo Murray Jr., of Marys Home, passed away peacefully at his home, on July 11, 2025. Born on October 23, 1931, he was the beloved son of the late John Sr. and Thelma (Johnson) Murray.
John was a proud graduate of Cambridge Latin High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and went on to attend Boston University. He dedicated many years of his career as a Troubleshooter for T&D Systems at Cambridge Electric/NStar. He was known for his steady work ethic, sharp mind, and unwavering commitment to solving problems with grace and persistence.
When he wasn't working, John could often be found at the Health plex, staying active and fit, or more importantly, spending cherished time with his family. His love for those closest to him was a defining part of his life.
John is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline MacLeod (Steven Wiskur); son Craig Schofield (Donna); grandchildren, John (Karli), Donald (Joelle), and Daniel (Jamie) MacLeod; and great-grandchildren, Ivory, Vera, Brady MacLeod, and Colton, Clayton, and Korbin Fecteau.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Jeanne (Purple) Murray; his son, Weston Schofield; his sister, Thelma Garnett; and his son-in-law, Monte Eldon MacLeod.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Director's, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Daryl Struemph. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in John's memory to the Leukemia Society.
