Sheree Pigford Obituary

Sheree was born the beloved daughter of Theodore Pigford and Florence (Childs) Vaughan. A proud graduate of Jefferson City High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor Degree in Sociology from Lincoln University. Throughout her career, Sheree dedicated herself to serving others, working many years with Missouri Probation and Parole, and later devoting her time to nurturing young minds through her work with Head Start.
Sheree had a passion for cooking, traveling, and was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends-especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
She is survived by her loving mother, Florence Vaughan; her children, Kevin Michael Pigford (Courtney), David Stuart Pigford (Brandy), Robert Eugene Pigford (Leigh), and Stacie Jean Elizabeth Brown (Anthony); her brothers, Kerry Pigford (Beth), Kevin Pigford, and Robert Vaughan (Cynthia); seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; aunt, Carol Corthron and her special sister, Carrie Wieberg.
Sheree was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Pigford; her stepfather, Wesley Vaughan; and her fiancé, Cleveland Rush.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Cemetery in New Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hope for Caribbean Kids or St. Paul United Methodist Church, causes dear to Sheree's heart.
Sheree's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
