It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Isabelle Catherine Spellmon, who peacefully left us on the morning of 26 May, at the age of 92. Isabelle was born at home on March 22, 1933, in Kinnelon, New Jersey, to Mark and Alice Whritenour. She was the cherished sister to Mark, Delmar, Alma, and Alice Rose, and grew up surrounded by the love and support of her family. Isabelle married the love of her life, Edward B. Spellmon, on January 30, 1954. Together, they shared 62 beautiful years of marriage before Edward's passing in 2016.
Isabelle's greatest joy was found in her family. She was the proud mother of three sons—Michael, Thomas, and Scott—and the proud grandmother to Nicholas, Thomas Jr., Steven, and Katherine. She was also blessed with the joy of a great-grandson, Shepard, who brought a special sparkle to her heart. Known for her kind heart, warm spirit, and love of family, Isabelle’s presence will be remembered by all who knew her. She took immense pleasure in cooking and baking, filling her home with delicious aromas that will forever remain a part of her legacy. She was deeply committed to her loved ones, always making time for them and creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
Isabelle was a woman who lived her life with grace and generosity, always putting others first. Her gentle nature, coupled with her strength, made her a constant source of comfort and support to her family and friends. In her later years, she continued to enjoy spending time with her family, embracing the moments that mattered most. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her. Isabelle's memory will be forever cherished by her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and all those whose lives she touched.
Visitation for Isabelle will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
