Isaiah Lamar Chavis

Isaiah Lamar Chavis, son of Rufus Bethea and Diana Chavis passed away on Monday June 17, 2024 at the Duke University Children's Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He was nine years old but packed a lot of living into those nine yeas. Isaiah was a student at Union Elementary School and excelled in his studies. He was an outside person who loved to run and feel the wind on his face. He loved riding his four wheeler and playing football and all other outdoor games. Isaiah was born on December 20, 2014 in Robeson County. From birth he was full of energy and when told he should not do things other kids were doing he loved proving folk wrong. He could accomplish anything he put his mind to with the help of God and praying family members.
Isaiah was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Bethea his paternal grandparents, Rufus Bethea Sr. and Viola Bethea also two uncles Rembert Earl Bethea and Russell S. Bethea.
Left with cherished memories are his father Rufus Bethea, his mother Diana Chavis of the home; his sister's Mya Locklear, Natalie Chavis, and Kendra Evans; one brother Lakai Chavis; Maternal Grandparents; Diane Chavis and Dallas Chavis; Uncles Johnny Bethea, Dallas Ray Chavis and Brandon Oxendine; Kaymon Locklear; one aunt Deidra Chavis and a host of other relatives and friends.
