Ismael Rivera Obituary
Ismael Rivera, 64, of Durham, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025.
Born on August 1, 1961, in El Salvador, he was the beloved son of the late Jose Mondragon and Ernestina Rivera.
Ismael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. He cherished simple moments outdoors, finding peace in nature and sharing that love with those closest to him. His steady presence, warm spirit, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Elizabeth Carcamo; his sons, Johnny Rivera, Roberto Rivera (Michelle), Kevin Rivera (Sandy), Luis Ramirez (Agnes), Luis Rivera, and Caesar Rivera; and his cherished grandchildren, Kailey, Alexander, Adrian, Antonio, Naiara, Josue, and Kaicy, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
A funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 708 Saint Michaels Ln, Gastonia, NC. Following the service, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.

Ismael Rivera, de 64 años, de Durham, Carolina del Norte, falleció pacíficamente el viernes 19 de diciembre de 2025.
Nacido el 1 de agosto de 1961 en El Salvador, fue el querido hijo de los fallecidos José Mondragón y Ernestina Rivera.
Ismael fue un esposo, padre y abuelo entregado, cuya mayor alegría era el tiempo que pasaba con su familia. Valoraba los momentos sencillos al aire libre, encontrando paz en la naturaleza y compartiendo ese amor con quienes más le rodeaban. Su presencia constante, espíritu cálido y fortaleza tranquila serán profundamente echados de menos por todos los que le conocieron.
Le sobreviven su querida esposa, Maria Elizabeth Carcamo; sus hijos, Johnny Rivera, Roberto Rivera (Michelle), Kevin Rivera (Sandy) Luis Ramírez (Agnes) y Luis Rivera, and Caesar Rivera; y sus queridos nietos, Kailey, Alexander, Adrian, Antonio, Naiara, Josue, y Kaicy, que le brindaron un inmenso orgullo y felicidad.
La misa funeral se celebrará a las 14:00 horas del viernes 26 de diciembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San Miguel, 708 Saint Michaels Ln, Gastonia, Carolina del Norte. Tras el servicio, la familia recibirá a los amigos de 18:00 a 21:00 en Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
El servicio en la tumba tendrá lugar a las 11:00 a.m. del sábado 27 de diciembre de 2025 en el cementerio Evergreen de Belmont.
