It is with a heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlene Bittner, who left us peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on May 6, 1948, Charlene lived a life filled with love and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Charlene was known for her role as a supply clerk at Caromont Regional Medical Center, where her dedication and work ethic shone brightly. She was a cherished member of the Zion Baptist Church community until health issues made it difficult for her to attend. Her spirit remained strong, and she continued to find joy in her favorite pastime-writing.
Charlene is survived by her beloved in-laws, Johnny Mayes and Pat Bryant; who will miss her dearly. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and creativity that will be remembered by all.
A funeral service will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Scattering of her cremains will be private at a later date.
Though she is no longer with us, the memories of her warm smile and gentle spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Bittner; parents Charles and Viola Bryant; siblings, Wanda Mayes, Michael Bryant and Barbara Bryant.
