Israel Moreno Jr. , 41, of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Israel (Izzy) was born on October 14, 1983, in Geneseo, IL, the son of Israel Moreno and Tina Thiakos.
Izzy was Norse Pagan and proudly shared his beliefs with those who were open minded enough to listen. He worked as a mason for most of his life, starting at 18 years old to present day. He was a very involved member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, joining the union local 21. He served as their secretary at their monthly meetings and a delegate at their annual conferences. He was very passionate about his work and the union, always advocating for people to join the skilled trades. His craftsmanship extended to carpentry and was very talented and creative, allowing him to build anything he could dream of.
His talents didn’t stop at just his work, Izzy loved to sing and had an amazing voice. He frequently sang karaoke at home, in the car and out with loved ones. He could play almost any instrument he picked up if he wanted to. Frequently playing his harmonica and jaw harp. His creative mind also made him very good at drawing and art.
In his free time, he enjoyed lifting weights, body building and competition wrestling; winning many medals and trophies. Through his love and passion for physical fitness, he earned a degree as a personal trainer and was a Zumba instructor. He also liked sports , was part of a semi-pro football team and even competed in downhill skateboarding.
He had a passion for motorcycles and loved riding them. He spent most of his life riding , starting when he was young , up until he passed.
He was not shy and very strong willed. Later in life he was active on many social media platforms making content geared for mental health , fitness, comedy and fathers rights.
Izzy enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, archery, fishing, camping and cross country skiing.
To those knew him, his bubbly personality and charismatic humor will always live on in their memories and stories they tell.
He was an incredible father, an amazing friend and a kind and loving partner. The love he gave to his children and Fiancé will be forever cherished.
He is survived by his Parents, Fiancé Melinda Hanson, children Charlie, Athena, and another little one on the way. His siblings; Avery, Erik, Angel (Owen), and Anthony. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
A friends and family gathering will be held from 1:00 -3:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home in Watertown, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in support of the family would be appreciated.
