Issac Reed Stephens

ISSAC REED STEPHENS, age 86, of the Tellico Plains Community.

Born December 8, 1938, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025.

He was a member of the Notchey Creek Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Tellico Masonic Lodge.

Reed graduated from Madisonville High School in 1957. He worked for Kern's Bakery delivering bread to the Monroe County area for 45 years. He was a man of integrity and taught his children the importance of family, hard work, and honesty. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends square dancing and playing Rook. He spent many years singing gospel music with the Happy Travelers and the Day Breakers.

He was preceded in death by parents; Robert Stanley Stephens and Cecil Marie Ellis, his sister Fanna Rae, brother Harriel Lynn Stephens, and grand-daughter Jessica Lee Stinnett.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna Lee Mitchell Stephens, daughters and son-in-laws Nancey and Jimmy Stinnett, Sherry and Mike Adcox, Donna and Chris Trentham and Spring and Paul McMinn, 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be conducted at Notchey Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. David Chambers and Rev. Shane Johnston officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm. at Notchey Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Notchey Creek Cemetery.
