Ivan Kay Hemric

Mr. Ivan Kay Hemric, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on February 24, 1941, in Yadkin County, NC to the late Virginia Gertrude Hemric. Ivan was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Ivan retired from RJ Reynolds after 35 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ivan was known for being a family a man and his story telling abilities. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Hemric and daughter, Sherri Hemric. Ivan is survived by his daughter, Angie Cooke (Kelly); four grandchildren, Keith Bennett, Felicia Bloomdahl (Dustin), Amber Casper (Chris); and Kyle Ashby; four great-grandchildren, Gracie, Audrey, and Eleanor, and Stella. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Derrick Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church.
