WALKERTOWN – Mrs. Ann Kennedy Rutledge, 92, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Mrs. Rutledge was a native of the small, picturesque town of Mendota, Virginia, where she was born September 16, 1933 to the late John F. and Rebecca Ann Kennedy. She lived a simple life centered on loving both her family and her Lord. In her later years, Bingo became a favorite pastime. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James William Rutledge (2015), a grandson, Jeff Rutledge (2010) and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Grantz, of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, James Lynn Rutledge (wife, Lynn) of Walkertown and Randy Rutledge (wife, Diane) of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, Shannon Rutledge, Jason Rutledge (Jackee), Jamie Rutledge (Gina), Chris Rutledge, Amy Wright (Paul), Allen Lee, and Allison West; numerous great-grandchildren; and she was proud to be great-great Nanny to two precious great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service will be conducted at Crestview Memorial Park. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”. Matthew 5:8.
