Ivan Duane Pletscher

PLETSCHER, Ivan Duane "Ike" – of Burton, MI, age 94, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Erik Cloeter officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County.
Ivan was born in Flint on May 10, 1931, son of the late Henry & Dehlia "Virginia" (Loyer) Pletscher. He married Norma Jean Townsend on February 4, 1950, in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death on August 23, 2016. Ike was dedicated employee, retiring from General Motors after 31 years of loyal service. He and Norma were members of the Motivator Square Dancers and they also owned a square dance apparel shop. After her passing, he enjoyed dancing weekly at local senior centers. Ike often listened to big band music. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying time fishing for bass and deer hunting. Ike also was a talented woodworker. His greatest joy was found in spending time with his family who he deeply loved.
Ivan is survived by his children, Gary (Amy) Pletscher and Karen (James) Elliott; grandchildren, Jeff Baker, Jason Pletscher, Justin Pletscher, Dr. Jamie McCartney, Josh (Melissa) Elliott, Matthew Thomas; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Eli, Jack, Ezra and Olive; sister, Charlene (Jerry) Hall; sister-in-law, Nona Gardener; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Jean Pletscher; brothers, Ernie Pletscher and Clayton (Carolyn Jean) Pletscher; sister, Eleanor (Edward) Sullivan.
