JC Williams was born on October 5, 1935, in Montalba, Texas, to the cherished union of Carlin and Lila Ann (Tucker) Williams. From a young age, he found his spiritual foundation at Providence Baptist Church, which remained his cherished spiritual home, even as he explored various congregations after relocating to Dallas.
On September 11, 2025, JC was gently called from his labor to his heavenly reward. Surrounded by the love of God, he embarked on this final journey, embraced by peace and love.
Throughout his life, JC was blessed with six wonderful children from his marriage to the late Mary (Lattin) Williams. He was a devoted father and father figure, whose love extended far beyond his immediate family.
JC was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carlin and Lila Ann Williams, alongside his siblings Geneva Barett, L.T. Williams, Thelma Page, Bunnia Calhoun, Lorine Lee, Oliver Williams, Olentis Williams, and Marcellus Williams. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jo Taylor, and his beloved wife, Tommye Lee Cooks-Williams.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his sister, Sammie Williams; his children, JC Lattin, Linda (Leonard) Kizzee, Pamela Sterns, Michael “Johnny” Williams, Joyce (Jimmy) Edman, and Lisa (Murphy) Singleton; along with a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. JC's life was enriched by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.
JC Williams’s life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will forever be a treasured part of our hearts. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the love he gave and the lives he touched.
