J P Gillis Obituary
J P Gillis was born on February 7, 1948 in Collinwood, Tennessee, the son of the late Coy and Edith Gillis.
On December 7, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sandra Joy Chambers, who survives.
Mr. Gillis worked as a sewing machine mechanic for VF Corporation. He was a member of Spoken Word Church and served as the Pastor there until 2018. He had previously served as the Pastor of Holy Baptist Church and Crossroads Church for several years.
J P Gillis departed this life on December 24, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 17 days.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Joy Gillis of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Boyce Jay Gillis and his wife Leiah of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Linda Thompson of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kaylee Paul, Maycee Parmely, Abbie Ritter, and Will Ritter; and great grandchildren, Blakely Paul and Aubrie Wallace.
In addition to his parents, J P was preceded in death by his daughter, Veronica Fuss and brother, James Allen Gillis.
