Fox - Funeral Services for J. Paul Johnson, 83, of Fox are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Fox Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnston and Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery on the Johnson Ranch. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
J. Paul Johnson, born on October 8, 1942, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to the late Ernest James Johnson and Joyce Jean (Phipps) Johnson, peacefully departed this life at his home in Fox on October 13, 2025. Raised in Fox, J. Paul graduated from high school in 1960 and furthered his education at Murray State in Tishomingo before returning to his roots in Fox. At a rodeo in Gainesville, he met the love of his life, Gipsy Lou Bradshaw, and they were united in marriage on December 2, 1963, in Gainesville, Texas. Together, they raised three beloved children in their cherished home.
J. Paul was deeply passionate about farming and ranching, dedicating his life to caring for the land. He found joy in tending to his cattle and remained committed to his daily tasks on the ranch, where he felt most at home, especially after losing Gipsy Lou, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2005.
In addition to his beloved wife, J. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Pierce, and brother Larry Joe Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula Stewart and her husband Ricky; sons, J. Brad Johnson and his wife Amy, and Cody Johnson and his wife Lana, all of Fox. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart, Jessica Stewart, Bradley Johnson and his wife Adrianna, Braden Johnson and his wife Maci, Cannen Johnson, and Chanlie Johnson; as well as great-grandchild Breck Johnson; and a host of other family members and friends.
Family and friends will serve as casket bearers, including Jeff Miller, Larry Sharp, Jerry Gordon, Bradley Johnson, Braden Johnson, Jeremy Stewart, and Cannen Johnson.
Honorary bearers are John Nelson, Breck Johnson, Chanlie Johnson, Jessica Stewart, and all employees of C&J Services and Johnson Ranch.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Cross Timbers Hospice, Mercy Hospital of Healdton, and caregivers Jeff Miller, Kelli McMillan, Adrianna Johnson, Maci Johnson, Hunter Wickware, and many others for their comforting care during this time.
Family visitation will take place on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
