J. Robert "Bob" Haines, age 88, of Thornton, PA, passed away on November 12, 2024.
Born in Darby, PA in 1936 and raised in Yeadon, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Mary (nee McIntyre) Haines. Bob served honorably in the US Air National Guard and was a graduate of Villanova University. He married his bride, Marjory, at age 21 and they had a loving, happy marriage for 67 years. Bob was a successful business owner for 40 years. He served his community, Thornbury Township, Delaware County, for over 35 years on the Zoning Hearing Board and as a Township Supervisor. Bob took great pride in his home and maintaining his property. He enjoyed boating in Rock Hall, MD, hunting, fishing, and many outdoor activities. Bob was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Bob was the beloved husband of Marjory J. (nee Wilcutts) Haines; loving father of Tracy Gibley (Joseph), Terri Haines, and Craig Haines; caring grandfather of Shannon Gibley; dear brother of J. Barry Haines.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
