J Stone Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2026.
Richmond Beach, WA- J Spencer Stone, 82, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Shoreline, Washington. J was a devoted husband, loving father, and friend. You could always count on him for a good, funny story and a sweet treat.

He was born March 3rd, 1943, where his wonderful parents Juanita and Spencer Stone chose him to raise as their beloved son in Brigham City, UT. He grew up riding his bike, having multiple dogs named Toby, and not getting into too much trouble.

J met the love of his life, Alice Young, when they were both attending Box Elder high school in Brigham City, Utah. They spent forty-one years together before Alice passed in 2004. They had four children together: Anthony (Teresa) Stone of Ammon, Idaho, Angela (Lorin) Morse of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tiffany (Robert) Stone-Ellis of Shoreline, Washington, and Mindy (Russell) Stone-Boguslawski of Salt Lake City, UT. As an only child, he also cherished his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

J joined the Army Reserves right out of high school, but it was clear soon after that he wanted to marry Alice and start a family. They were married in the temple in 1963 and moved to Louisiana in 1964 where Anthony then Angela were born. His career moved the family all over the country. Tiffany was born in Ohio and Mindy in Washington before he settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho for 30 years. J returned to Washington state for his retirement years to enjoy being surrounded by nature and his loved ones.

J will be greatly missed by his family, for whom he truly lived.

Love you Dad, yours truly Tony, Angie, Tiffany and Mindy
