Jace King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins Funeral Home on Jan. 15, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jace Kayde King on December 10, 2024, at the age of 53. His generosity knew no bounds, as he was generous in life, but also in death as an organ donor. Jace was a loving husband and son, and a beautiful soul whose radiant smile lit up any room he entered. He especially loved spending time with his family, and his beloved dogs, Rigby, Dobbie, Beanie & Finley.
Jace met the love of his life and wife, Jennifer Smith-King, 20 years ago, and they were inseparable from the time they first met. He considered his mom, Kay Thorpe, to be his best friend and confidant. He is best described as someone who was strong-willed, with unwavering determination and unconditional love and support for his family, friends and community.
As a registered nurse, Jace worked throughout Texas with his heart focused on long-term care. He helped open two long-term care facilities in the Austin area. He had a deep passion for helping residents keep their dignity while providing them with excellent care. After becoming disabled due to multiple medical issues, he continued to advocate for others in both the LGBTQ community and through championing animal rights. His favorite hobbies included woodworking, gardening and working on cars, which he was self-taught.
Although Jace is gone, he will live in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Equality Texas (equalitytexas.org) or Texas Humane Heroes (humaneheroes.org) in Jace's name. Celebration of life details to follow.
