Jacie Combs, Jr., age 95 of Gatesville, passed away on September 9, 2023, at his home in Gatesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Deaton Funeral Home in Jackson, Kentucky. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Crockettsville Cemetery in Booneville, Kentucky.
Jacie Combs, Jr. was born on June 27, 1928, in Guerrant, Kentucky to the late Goley and Adina Combs. In 1970, Jacie married Carole Troutman in Bay Minette, Alabama. Later, Jacie and his family lived in Cable, Ohio for many years until they retired in Gatesville, Texas. He drove a semi-truck for several companies starting in the early 1950’s. Jacie was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine and Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Goley & Adina Combs; daughters, Flossie Combs (infant), Joyce Ann Combs (infant), and Golden Ferguson and husband, Larry; sisters, Myrtle Fugate and husband, Pearl, Minnie Belle Bennett, and Edna Mae Moore; brothers, Levi “Bud” Combs, Luther Ray Combs, Gary Combs, and James Combs.
Jacie is survived by his wife, Carole; children, Pauline Deaton and husband, Fred, Pearl Combs, Gary Wayne Combs, Carolyn Harner and husband, Robert, and Robert Combs and wife, Amy; sisters, Flossie Stamper and husband, Floyd, Ollie Williams, and Rose Cole; brothers, Floyd Combs, Gene Combs, Homer Combs; fourteen grandchildren, Randall Deaton and wife, Shelagh, Marcia Adams, and husband, Colin, Brittany Blaize and husband, Tyrone, Bailey Harner, Brianna Harner, Brooklyn Brown and husband, Skyler, Brittanie Barnett and husband, Jody, Sidney Underwood and husband, Spencer, Savanna Combs, Dustin Combs, Karen Ferguson, William Ferguson, Joshua Ferguson, and Misty Combs; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas and Deaton Funeral Home in Jackson, Kentucky.
