Jack Bolden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory - New Castle on Aug. 27, 2024.
Jack Dennis Bolden, age 77, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Born in Harrisburg, PA on January 10, 1947, he was the son of the late James and Mabel (Wagner) Bolden. Jack grew up in Duncannon, PA and later moved to Brookside in Newark, DE during his years in elementary school. He later attended Christiana High School and was a member of the first graduating class. Jack made his career as a pipefitter for the Local 74 Union.
Jack had a passion for sports and enjoyed playing as well as teaching his sons about Little League when he was young. In his spare time, he loved to treat himself to candy, smoke a Pall Mall cigarette or feed the squirrels who visited his yard. Most of all, Jack cherished the memories he made with his family. He looked forward to every family function and going to concerts with them.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife who he missed dearly, Scarlet Ann (Munson) Bolden; son, Matthew B. Bolden; and great-grandson, Adam Caskey II. He is survived by his children, Samantha McGeoch (Allan), Gina Phillips (T.J. Woodruff), Gloria Davies (William), and Jack D. Bolden II (Lynne Burtell); sister, Lucy Skelly; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 6 nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A funeral service will begin at 10 am on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
